Early Life:
Maung Maung Htay was born on November 10, 1959. When he was about four years in 1963, his parents transferred back to his grandfather’s village, Ahsugyi. When he was young, he wanted to attend Adventist school but due to the poverty family condition, he could not able to attend Adventist school. He could attended Adventist school only grade 1 and he transferred to government school in his village. Even though he attended the government school, he experienced the Adventist belief and he faithfully attended church regularly on Wednesday prayer meeting, Friday vesper service, and Sabbath day services.
His parents were not Adventists, they were animists. They devoted to their believed much but fortunately they did not prohibit to their children belief in Adventist and baptized in this church. After grade 4, he attended to the middle school at Zayala Gyi villge about 10 miles far from his village. He walked every day during summer and winter but on raining season he went to school by canoe. The school life was very difficult for him. He attended to school with other four students. They all were Buddhist except him.
Even though he attended Buddhist school he was faithful to keep Sabbath regularly. He did not attended and wrote examination on Sabbath day. By the grace of God he passed the examination every school year. But when he was in grade 7 he was discouraged because of Sabbath day problem. He prayed to God as he wanted to go to Myaungmya Adventist school. At that time Myaungmya Adventist boarder accepted students to their boarding to attend government school. He attended No, 3 middle school at Mosokwin Rd. Myaungmya. By the grace of God he was free from Sabbath classes and he passed grade eighth government examination without Sabbath breaking.
Then he attended Pre I and Pre II in Adventist school and graduated for Ministerial Training Course,( MTC) on March 1982.

Ministry:
· In 1982 after he finished Ministerial Training Course and he served as a Literature Evangelist for 3 years and eleven months. Before he become full time literature evangelist he was a student Literature evangelist since 1978.
· In 1986 he worked as Union Estate Keeper from 1986 to 1987.
· In 1988 January he was transferred to Hmawbi church as church pastor. At that time Myanmar Country was in a confusion condition. Political condition was turmoil and there was demonstration throughout the whole country. Hmawbi church was in a serious state, member didn’t want to accept a new pastor like him.
He accompanied with Pastor Tember Chit, Yangon district leader, to the church. He was also very discouraged because of problems in the church. But he worked patiently then within three years the church was grew and members were acquaintance to him and helped him too. During these three years he went to various places and tried to plant churches. Evangelistic meeting was conducted by Pastor Samuel Po, he also included in this group. After evangelism in 1990, he went alone to give bible study to the villagers for three months. After that the church was established. He went to various places such as Thandazar, 74 air force base, 16 Latee base, Tatkyi gone and other places for church planting.
· In 1991 he was transferred to Ahlone Church, Yangon for one year.
· In 1992 he was transferred to Twantay church. He served as church pastor and leader of churches. He got ordination on December 1996.
He served there about 14 years and some churches were planted such as Dagondaing church, Bo Paw Yoe church, Auksu church. He Penetrated to new place such as Chaung Hong, Ayoe Taung, Tan Thone bin, Shwe Wa Chun. He served as District Leader or Churches Circle leader of Twantay from 2004 to 2005.
· In 2006 he was elected as Yangon District Administrator( YAD). He served as Yangon Attached District from 2006 to 2010.
· He was elected as Publishing Ministry Director of Myanmar Union Mission of SDA. From 2011 to 2015.
· Then he was re-elected as Yangon Attached District President from 2016 to 2021. During his ministry as President of Yangon Attached District, in 2017 the Yangon Attached District (YAD) was changed into Yangon Adventist Mission( YAM).
· During his ministry in YAD or YAM there were leaders as follow:
1. Pastor Khin Maung Nyein- 1977-1979.
2. Pastor Saw Hla Chit- 1980 to 1983
3. Pastor Tember Chit-1984-1990 and 1996.
4. Pastor Samuel Po- 1991-1992 and 2003-2004.
5. Pastor Kyaw Sein Pe- 1993to 1995.
6. Pastor Kenneth Htang Suazanang- 1997 to 2002.
7. Pastor Sonny Htain- 1995
8. Pastor Maung Maung Htay- 2006-2010 and 2016 -2021.
9. Pastor Saw Keh. 2011-2015.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE CHURCH
· He built some churches in YAM territory. These churches were Dagondaing church, Auksu Church, Targone Church, Twantay church, Bo Paw Yoe church, Kaw Chan Church, Yuzana Garden house church, house church in Sitaung, Yuzana. East Dagon Church extension, Okkan Church, Thon Sone church, Dalah house church, Lay Daunt Kan house church,
Taikyi House church, Kaw Chan House church, Palae house church,
· Newly places were penetrated as follow:
In Twantay District:
Dagondaing, Bo Paw Yoe, Auksu, Taloattaw, Ayoe Taung, Shwe Wa Chun, Bo paw Yoe, Targone and Tan Thone Bin villages were penetrated. School were built at Tan Thone Bin, Dagondang, Auksu.
Hmawbi District:
New place Penetrated: Wadawsu, Kaw chan, Aye Chantha, Sarbutaung, Taikyi Yae Thoe. Now this places became an organized Churches.
Thayarwaddy District:
Penetrated: Kyun Gone,Okkan, Nga Pyu Lay,Zaloat were penetrated and churches were established.
Yangon South-West District:
New Penetrate: Shwe Pyi Tha, Yuzana, Lay Daunt Kan,Dalah, Ywathagyi, Shwe Pyi Tha, East Dagon and North-Dagon. Now these places were operated and worship regularly weekly.
Yangon North East District:
New penetrated: Thayar gone, Hlaegoo, Palae Myo Thit, Waw and Pago.

CHANGE OF MISSION STATUS.
In 1977 Yangon Attached District was organized. At this time, the newly form up district was started with 5 churches and 764 members. In 2013, Yangon Attached District was extended to Rakhine State. In this year there were 37 churches with 6,224 members.
In December 15-16, 2017 Yangon Attached District(YAD) was upgraded to Yangon Adventist Mission(YAM). This is the remarkable events for him for changing YAD to YAM. During his ministry as President in YAM the officers are President, Pr. Maung Maung, Secretory is Pr. Khin Maung Yin, Treasurer was Pr. Nang Do Dal. Department Directors were Saya Myo Chan and Nant Saung Wai Wai. Saya Ler Moo Aye is chief Accountant, Khin Sanda Tin is Accountant and Administrative secretary and cashier is Naw Eh Paw Wah.

Spouse’s birth date is March 10, 1960.
Naw Million Htay has four sibling,1. Eugine Peter,2.Ann Peter 3. Julia Peter and Million Peter Youngest daughter.
He married to Naw Million Htay on August 30, 1984..

– Naw Clara married to Sa Cho Gyi, they got three children, Eldest daughter is Nant Shar Hgee Lar, Sa Ei Pan and Sa Tha Pwa, the youngest one Paung Sha Pwa
– Saw Peter married to Yadana Win. They got a son call Blessing and a daughter Name Steller Win.
At present he has seven grandchildren.
