Lay Moo Kyaw

Early Life

     Lay Moo Kyaw was born on December 7, 1970 in Hpa-An Government Hospital, Hpa-An township, Kayin State. His father was a mission worker. He is the eldest son of Pastor Muller Kyaw and Daw Blue May Chit, belonging to the Karen tribe. He had four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. He spends most of his early life in Myaung Mya City, Ayeyarwady Division, Myanmar.

Early Education and Marriage

                Lay Moo Kyaw went to the government school in Myaung Mya from Kindergarten to Grade 3.  After that he transferred to the Mission School (AYAS) and he studies from grade 4 through grade 8 in AYAS. After that he was transferred to the Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary (MUAS). He finished his Ministry Training Courses (MTC) at MUAS in 1991. In 1998, he finished his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Spicer Memorial College, Pune, India. Myanmar Union Mission sent him to Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) and he finished his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Management in 2011. He married Naw Lin Lin Thwe on February 20, 2001, in Hpa-An, Kayin State. They have two children, Elder daughter Naw Eh Hser Moo and Son Loyal Moo.

Career/Ministry

                In 1999, he entered the ministry as Mission Accountant for seven years (South East Mission of Myanmar). In 2006, he was elected as Treasurer of the South East Mission of Myanmar (SEM). He served as South East Mission (SEM) Treasurer for almost four years. Then, in October, 2009, Myanmar Union Mission sent him to Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS – Philippines) for further study. He returned to Myanmar in October, 2011 and served as Vice-President for Finance (VPFA) at the Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary (MUAS) for almost seven years. In march, 2018, he was elected as Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA) at the MUAS. Now, he served as VPSA in MUAS.
