Gin Lam Cin

(AUTOBIOGRAPHY)

Early Life

                Gin Lam Cin was born on June 9, 1968, in Anlangh village, Tedim Township, Chin State, Myanmar. His parents are Pu Hang Khan Go and Pi Thang Khan Dim. He spent most of his childhood in Anlangh village.

                He grew up in a huge family. There are twelve family members including his parents. His siblings are Thang Cin Khai, Ngem Go Cing, Thang Lun Mung, Niang En Vung, Dim Hau Cing, Suan Zam Khup, Pau Suan Mang, Pau Deih Tuang, and Cing Huai Nuam. Among the siblings, Thang Cin Khai was a mission worker and worked as the church pastor at Anlangh and Zampi villages. Thang Lun Mung also joined the ministry as a school teacher at Anderson Adventist Seminary and principal at Anlangh Adventist Seminary, after that he went to Malaysia and pastoring the Zomi Adventist refugee. Among his siblings, Thang Lun Mung, Dim Hau Cing and Cing Huai Nuam graduated from Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary in 1999, 2001 and 2010 school year respectively.

Education and Marriage

                He attended public school in Anlangh village up to grade 4 and then continued his education in one of the public schools (BEHS) in Tedim until 1979.  Thereafter, he resumed his study at Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary in 1986 and accomplished Plus Two (DCEC, India) in 1988. From then he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree at Spicer Memorial College (Pune, India) in 1988 and earned his BLA Degree in 1993. Furthermore, in 1997 he proceeded Master’s Program and obtained his MA Ed Degree from Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) in 2003. He was married to Zen Sian Cing, a Zomi lady from his tribe, on March 28, 1993. They were blessed with three children. The eldest daughter, Dim San Niang and the two sons, Go Sawm Sing and Cin Lam Kim studied at Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary, an Adventist College situated in Myaungmya. Dim San Niang and Go Sawm Sing graduated from Myanmar Union  Adventist Seminary in 2017 and 2018 respectively. His daughter Dim San Niang continued her study at Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) and graduated her Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2020. Then, his son Go Sawm Sing also continued his study in Master of Art in Urban Ministry at Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS).

Ministry

                In 1993, he joined the ministry as a Teacher/Evangelist at Anderson Adventist Seminary, Lawibual, Tedim, Chin State, and served there for four years. Furthermore, in 1997, he was assigned to Upper Myanmar Adventist Seminary (UMAS), Siyin Ywa, Kalaymyo, Sagaing Division, and worked the Treasurer of the school for two years. In 1999, the Upper Myanmar Mission Session nominating committee members chose him to be the principal of Anderson Adventist Seminary, at Lawibual, Tedim, Chin State, and working as the principal of Anderson Adventist Seminary for a year.

In May 2000, the mission transferred him to Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Division as a Lecturer and Assistant Church Pastor for two years. In May 2002, Upper Myanmar Executive Committee approved sending him back to Upper Myanmar Mission Adventist Seminary and working there as the Dean of boys and Teacher for the school year 2002-2003.

                In 2003, he served as the Principal and Church Pastor at Kalay Adventist Seminary and worked there for a year. From 2004 to 2006, he served as the Principal at Paangpi Adventist Seminary and at the same time the church pastor at Pangpi Church, Kalaymyo, Sagaing Division. Moreover, in 2006, he got a call from our Adventist College, Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary, to serve as the lecturer and Dean of Men.

In 2007, he was appointed to be the Treasurer of Upper Myanmar Mission, and served as the Mission Treasurer for Ten years at the Upper Myanmar Mission Headquater, Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Division. In 2017, he was posted to Pyidawtha (Northern), Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, to be the Church Pastor, and served there as the Church Pastor for Six months until before he moved to Myitkyina. From 2018 to present, he is serving as both the Church Pastor at Takone Church and the District Pastor of Myitkyina, Kachin State, Myanmar.

Contribution/Legacy

He is genuine and faithful in the service of the Lord.  As a faculty and the principal of a number of Adventist Schools, he is a passionate teacher. He committed his life to the schools and the students. He molded the character of young students by giving counseling to young people and teaching them with passion and care. As a Mission Treasurer, he visited churches and encouraged the church members, and shared the importance of giving Tithe and Offering. As a Pastor, he has great compassion for the churches and the church members; therefore, the church members admire and love him as well.
