Saw Andrew Tin

(AUTOBIOGRAPHY)

( 1959 – Present 15th 2021)

                Saw Andrew Tin is the Sabbath school department and S.O.P departmental director at Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Central Myanmar Mission.

Early Life

                Saw Andrew Tin was born on Sep 9, 1959 in Yangon Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital. His parent were U Saw Maung Tin and Daw Si Si. They are Karen tribe. His father was Seventh-Day Adventist and led X-ray department incharge for many years in Yangon SDA Hospital. He has three brothers and five sisters.

Education

                Saw Andrew Tin started his education from Kinder-garden to Grade -1 at the Miss Gifford English school in Yangon. Later, The General Nay Win made it as government school and the Seventh-day Adventist Hospital as the government hospital. Two years later, due to military chaos, his father Saw Maung Tin family moved from Yangon to Taung Ngu, Kyaunt Taing Seventh-day Adventist school. He continued to study in this school. Unfortunately, two years later, this high school became government school and the government made it as the Agriculture high school. He continued to study at No.5 state high school in Taung Ngu, from grade 5 to grade 9. Later, he stopped his education for 6 years long. His professional  was agriculture. In 1979, Central Myanmar Mission opened the high school in Tarbyay and he continued to study in that school for two years. And, then he continued to study a Ministerial Training Course in Myaung Mya for three years. When he finished from Burma Union  Bible Seminary, Central Myanmar E.C committee appointed him to do evangelistic work.                                  So, he went to Shan state, Mine Hsat. He served in the Mine Hsat  for five years.

Marriage

                Saw Andrew Tin  married to Daw Hannah on June 15, 1990 at Kyaung Taing Church. Their children are Naw Sheeba, Saw Edison, Naw Lady Dawn and Saw Judson. In 1992, Apr 1, he served in Tarbyay Central Myanmar Adventist Seminary School for 5 years, as a boys’ hostel dean. He finished B.A (Religion Major, Education Minor in May 30, 1997.

Ministry

                He started his first Ministerial work in Mine Hsat for five years. (1986 – 1990).After five years, he served in CMAS School as boys’ hostel dean. (1992 – 1997).               In 1997 May 15, he went back to the Mine Hsat church and established the boarding school during 1998. ADRA Myanmar gave the fund, Myanmar kyats 3,600,000. The Central Myanmar Mission established 7 schools in villages for two new tribes called Lahu and Arkar in that area. The seven teachers’ salary were given by one Thousand Missionary Movement Project fund. Saw Andrew Tin was  ordained during the Ministerial Convention event on Dec 10, 1998 at Pyin Oo Lwin, Upper Myanmar head quarter. He served in  Mine Hsat for another 10 years as a district leader, (1997 – 2007).

                In 2007 May 30, He returned back to the Central Myanmar Mission as a department of director for 2 years, (2007 – 2009).    Later he served as a district leader and church Pastor in CMM for 2 years,(2009 -2010). Later He served in Shan, as Kayar district leader for three years (2010 –       2013).

                 In 2013, he  returned to the Central Myanmar Mission as a Sabbath school department and S.O.P departmental director. (2013 and present) He is now 62 years and He is  willing to retire and give opportunity to junior leaders to take over his place. His services has reached 34 years and one month in this coming December 2021. His Ordained service was 23 years. When he look back the past, he experienced  God’s  marvelous carry and God’s leading  throughout his ministry journey. Though, he is going to retire soon, he will be serving God in His ministry until his last breath out. By the grace of God, God protects him and his family during this pandemic time. He thanks God for the opportunity that he had. He concludes his article with a sincere prayer that God will bless all workers and members in Myanmar.
